Celebrate National Dairy Month

June is Dairy Month — Help us build a strong community

To celebrate National Dairy Month, we're sharing every which-way we love our dairy products, all while raising money for our local community. From breakfast to dinner, dairy plays an important role in our everyday diets, providing essential nutrients that our bodies crave. When You Buy Milk, We Give Back

For the entire month of June, we are donating 10¢ for every gallon-sized Kemps milk purchased (excluding organic) to local food banks which provide essential care to those in our community dealing with food insecurity. Come celebrate with us, knowing you're helping your neighbors while also getting the freshest milk in town!

Freshest Milk in Town

Here at Cub, we strive to provide the freshest milk in town. We promise that when you buy one of our dairy products, you're getting at least seven days of freshness. Plus, there are just up to 48 hours between the time our milk leaves the farm until it ends up on our shelves, so you know you're getting the best. We're proud to support our local dairy industry not just in June, but every month in the year. Don't settle for anything less than the freshest—stop by your Cub store today.

Dairy Goes With...

Milkshakes, smoothie bowls, ice cream cake, cheeseburgers—what can't dairy do? This month we're celebrating all things dairy—and not just because it's delicious. Milk also contains essential nutrients that our bodies crave, from protein and calcium to Vitamin A and potassium, making milk a nutritious powerhouse. Dairy products with these nutrients may help with weight-management, keeping blood pressure  low and preventing osteoporosis. This June, we're enjoying all of the ways dairy makes our tastebuds—and our bodies—happy.

Milkshakes go with...

On a warm summer night, nothing hits the spot quite like a creamy milkshake with whipped cream and a cherry on top. Make an event of it by gathering the family up for a fun movie night in. Make a large batch of everyone's favorite milkshake flavor, or take individual requests like Dulce de Leche Banana or Fresh Berry. Let the kids' creativity go wild by putting them in charge of toppings, then pop in a favorite film and slurp away.

CREAM CHEESE goes with toast for brunch

Cream cheese goes with...

Open-face toast is perfect for al fresco brunch, and when you pair it with smooth cream cheese and top in fresh herbs, fruits or veggies, you might forget that bagels were ever a thing. Try your toast savory-style by pairing cucumbers, red peppers, or tomatoes with cracked pepper, a dash of salt and some complimentary fresh herbs like dill or basil on a bed of cream cheese. Prefer something sweeter? Mixed berries, a drizzle of honey and a dash of cinnamon on top of cream cheese is the way to go.

YOGURT goes with granola for a power-breakfast

Yogurt goes with...

Set yourself up for success by starting the day with a filling, power-boosting breakfast of yogurt and granola. Yogurt, which contains probiotics, helps cultivate good bacteria in your gut which improves your overall digestive health. Pair protein-packed yogurt with whole grain granola and fresh fruit and you'll be on your way to a deliciously energized day.

STRING CHEESE goes with post-playtime snacks

String cheese goes with...

Post playtime, naptime, or just as a midday snack, the next time the kids get hungry, reach for some string cheese. With essentials like vitamin C, calcium, fiber and protein, string cheese is a low-fat snack that you can feel good about feeding your family—or yourself!

WHIPPED CREAM goes with just-because cake

Whipped cream goes with...

Some days just call for cake, and with the weather heating up, an ice cream cake is the perfect treat. Take any ice cream cake to the next level by topping it in homemade whipped cream. Trust us—the extra effort is worth the payoff. Whether you prefer your ice cream cake plain or you want to dress it up in chocolate syrup, sprinkles, or fruit, you can cool down with a decadently chilly cake.

Coffee creamer goes with...

Summer is (unofficially) iced coffee season, and there's nothing quite like grabbing a refreshing cold brew with a friend on a hot day. Save your money when you skip the coffeehouse by becoming your own in-house barista. Chobani creamer will instantly make iced coffee creamy and add a touch of sweetness. To make at-home cold brew, mix 1/2 cup of coarse coffee grounds with 3-4 cups of water, stir, then cover and let sit overnight in the fridge. The next morning, strain out the grounds, add some creamer, grab your best buddy and enjoy.

CHEDDAR CHEESE goes with burgers at the cookout

Cheese goes with...

Summer is here, which means it's time to sweep off the back patio and fire up the grill—and nothing says "summer" quite like melty cheese on a charcoal-grilled hamburger. Not only does cheese contain osteoporosis-fighting calcium, but it also contains vitamin K, a nutrient known to strengthen teeth and bone. Eating cheese has also been linked to lowered cholesterol, and thanks to its protein-to-carbohydrate levels, it's also an ideal snack for when you need an energy-boost.

BUTTER goes with corn on the grill

Butter goes with...

Speaking of firing up the backyard grill, nothing says, "summer in the Midwest" like char-grilled corn on the cob drenched in salty butter. Celebrate the fresh flavors of summer by pairing grilled corn on a stick with melted salted butter or try adding toasted garlic or dried herbs to your butter for a flavorsome twist.

MILK goes with mid-week cookies

Milk goes with...

This summer, we're advocating that you treat yourself every now and then—just because. Feel good about what you're putting in your body, like organic whole milk, rich in naturally occurring nutrients. Whether you bake your cookies from scratch, make your dough and freeze it so it's always on hand, or you reach for the ready-to-bake kind, you deserve to treat yourself.

YOGURT goes with smoothie bowls for a protein boost

Greek yogurt goes with...

Greek yogurt is known for being thicker and denser than regular yogurt, but did you know it's also higher in protein and lower in sugar? Pair this power food with frozen berries, chia seeds and fresh bananas and you'll have yourself an energy-boosting smoothie bowl, perfect for breakfast or as a post-workout snack.

Did You Know?

On average, Americans consume about two servings of dairy a day. Adding just one more serving of dairy would help fill the average American’s nutrient gap.

The average dairy cow produces anywhere from 6 to 8 gallons of milk per day, or about 125 glasses. The average dairy cow produces more than 2,000 gallons of milk every year.

Believe it or not, most people usually live within 100 miles or less from a local dairy farm, which means the milk you enjoy every day is fresh and local. A win-win!

Did you know that cheese is great for your teeth? Research shows that eating cheese right after a meal or as a snack helps reduce tooth decay.

You’re not the only one who can get into a steady groove listening to your favorite playlist. Researchers have found that many cows tend to produce more milk when classical music is played.

Good news for athletes! Chocolate milk contains an optimal ratio of carbohydrates-to-proteins making it ideal to refuel tired muscles. Chocolate milk is almost twice as effective as commercial sports drinks.
