Overnight Baked French Toast with Berry CompoteĀ

1 tablespoon Wild Harvestā Unsalted Butter, softenedĀ
9 Wild Harvestā Organic Large EggsĀ
2 cups Wild Harvestā Whole MilkĀ
1 1/2 cups heavy creamĀ
1/4 cup Wild Harvestā Organic Maple SyrupĀ Ā
1 1/2 teaspoons Wild Harvestā Organic Vanilla ExtractĀ
1 1/2 teaspoons Wild Harvestā Ground CinnamonĀ
3/4 teaspoon fine sea saltĀ
One 20oz loaf challah bread, cut into 1ā thick slicesĀ
Two 10oz bags Wild Harvestā Organic Frozen Berry BlendĀ Ā
1/4 cup Wild Harvestā Organic Maple SyrupĀ
1 tablespoon lemon juiceĀ
Whipped cream, optionalĀ
Directions
- Butter a 9” x 13” baking dish.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, cream, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Submerge each slice into the custard and arrange in prepared baking dish in a single layer, overlapping the slices. Pour remaining custard over bread. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 350ā.
- Remove plastic wrap from baking dish. Bake 55-60 minutes, or until golden brown and custard has set.
- In a medium saucepan, combine frozen berries, maple syrup, and lemon juice. Cook, stirring on medium heat until fruit begins to break down and thicken, 10-15 minutes.
- Serve baked French toast with berry compote and whipped cream, if desired.
